Soul reapers exercise and practice there fighting skills all the time. But there is one thing that only an elite group of soul reapers can attain. This thing is called bankai and is unique to each warrior. Bankai is an unique ability that is ingrained in the weapon that the soul reaper uses.

You will soon figure out that Ichigo also is a soul reaper. He gets his powers from Rukia, another soul reaper, who was injured while battling against a Hollow. He attains bankai pretty quickly in the cartoon. A lot of fighting goes on in the cartoon.

Ichigo meets many friends throughout his journey who help him in different battles.

Rukia Kuchiki is a good friend of the main character. She is a soul reaper who lended Ichigo her powers. Chad is another good friend of Ichigo. He is tall guy who is very powerful. Orihime and Ishida are two other good friends of Ichigo.
