People loved and still love 80′s music but what about the 90′s? The 90′s were full of forgotten treasures that set the stage for future acts. Bands such as Green Day, Radiohead and Pearl Jam made it big back then and are still huge today.

But, there were those bands that after having wowed us with their number one hit, suddenly disappeared into the abyss quicker than they had first emerged, like the saying goes, they entered in like a bolt of lightning but flew out like the wind.

These are formally known as one hit wonders and no one can ever remember the bands names only the title of the hit songs, for obvious reasons.

Take the song Breakfast At Tiffany’s for my first example. When this song emerged, the crowds went wild for it but as with many other one hit wonders, no one can recall the name of the band, can you?

You probably wouldn’t guess it after ten tries, it was Deep Blue Something, the exemplary one hit wonder of the 90′s.

Here’s another one. How about the song “The Way”? This one was released during the late 1990s, and many absolutely loved it. In fact, it still receives occasional airplay today. Unfortunately, the band was never ever to replicate the success shown in this song.

There is another band that have a hit song, The Rembrandts, who? I hear you asking. Their hit is listened to by many people every day and no one even remembers who sang it or realizes that it was a hit from the 90′s.

That song, I’ll Be There For You, no not Bon Jovi but the one that was used as the theme song in Friends. It was really popular at the time but the band faded out not long after that hit was released.

Who will make the one-hit wonders list of the 2000s? As the decade has just ended, we may very well be able to create this list quite soon.
