Now, most people rent movies often. In many cases we all wait to rent the box office hits, in preference to going to the movies. Here is a short list of some of the most popular DVD rentals in October 2008.

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) returns to action, after a long break. This is the most recent movie in the Indiana Jones series. In this movie Mr. Jones is pitted against post war Soviets. Now, the chase is on for the Crystal Skulls, and the powers they might possess.

THE LAZARUS PROJECT: Former criminal Ben Garvey has changed his life for the better. With a stable home, and a job that pays the bills, he seems to have found a better life. Then, he gets fired from his job, and he finds himself heading back into the criminal world. His criminal rebirth is a complete bust, and he is convicted, and sentenced to die. Death by lethal injection awaits. Instead, he regains consciousness only to find himself in a mental hospital. He now is in a battle for his sanity, and his spritual well being.

LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon is a veteran boarder patrolman in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. But Michael’s past is about to catch up with him. A long time ago, he was in a violent Los Angeles gang, before final breaking away. When When a chance meeting exposes his whereabouts to his old gang, he finds himself in great danger. For the sake of his family, he will take a huge risk, and make sure that gang leader drake is able to safely get a huge illegal drug delivery into the country.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This film tells us the tale of Scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who has been transformed into the Hulk. The film is an epic tale of the marvel comic character the green Hulk. Stars include Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, Liv Tyler. The director is Louis Leterrier. The film genre is sci-fi/action.

DECEPTION: Jonathan McQuarry (ewan mcgregor) has a chance encounter with corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. It is a meeting that changes his life forever. He learns about “The List”, which provides access to a secret world of sexual pleasures. But, he is also led into a scene full of deceipt, underhandidness and death.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Trying to find his missing brother, a science professor goes on a mission that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This is another version of the original 1959 movie, which was based on the science fiction book by renowned author Jules Verne. Starring Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutchinson.

THE HAPPENING: Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberb), with his wife, and Julian, with his daughter Jess are leaving Philadelphia by train. Philadelphia has been thrown into chaos. Many people are being overcome by some strange illness, and are killing themselves. Will mankind find the solution, or are we witnessing the final acts of humans on Earth?

IRON MAN: Super stud, engineering expert, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is taken hostage by Afghan fighters. They demand him to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He was wounded during his capture, and he has shrapnel lodged in his chest. To live through this life threatening wound, and get away from the rebels, he creates a suit made of armor, that makes him super strong. We now have another super hero, Iron Man.

SPEED RACER: A comic, turned TV anime, gets real actors. Following an example like The Flinstones, Speed Racer was a TV cartoon that was turned to a movie with an actual cast. Speed Racer is a young man who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a very dangerous race that his older brother lost his live in. With the odds stacked against him, and everything at risk, Speed Racer partners up with his enemy of the past, Racer X, in an effort to capture the championship, and save the family business.
